Three more San Diego Breweries Visited

Checked off three more San Diego breweries on the current list of 70. Visited Indian Joe Brewing up in Vista first. They had  a nice Hazelnut Chocolate Stout and a nice American Indian IPA that I liked #10 on this list.

Next up was Belchin Beaver Brewery and they had Ol' Dirty Barrel a RIS aged in Rye Bourbon barrels for 7 months. Nice flavor and not too overpowering on the bourbon taste.

Next was Stumblefoot Brewing Co. and they had Otay Chipotle Stout which had a mild heat that went well with the stout flavour.

Cascade Pale Ale

Just brewed this and got an OG of 1.06 with 5.25 gals. Looking to make a nice hoppy low-alcohol summer pale ale.

Scotch Ale

Brewed this up on Memorial Day and it started fermenting in about 6-8 hours!

This is my first attempt at a Scotch Ale. I hope the Victory malt adds a nice flavor.

Culture brewery in Solana Beach

Visited the brewery on Sunday and tasted the pale ale and IPA. Really liked the IPA!!. They were out of the Imperial IPA, guess I will try that next time. The wife had the brown and the Imperial stout, they were just OK, nothing special.

I just checked Westcoaster web site and it now shows 69 active breweries.  They sure are making my quest to visit all the San Diego breweries a challenge! !

Two more San Diego breweries down

Visited two more breweries and a tasting room in my quest to visit all 66 San Diego breweries. First up was Intergalactic Brewing. Alex had some nice beers on tap. The unique beer I liked was the Smoked Ale. Great job for a one man show!
Next up was the Poor House Brewing on 30th St. The beer is served in mason jars. Not bad beer, more like a neighborhood bar than a brewery. Nice touch with free pretzels and peanuts on request.
Then just down the street is the Belching Beaver tasting room. The beer was good with a nice selection. See the picture for more details.
